Umbilical hernia- to whom do I ask baby to be referred?

DS (10 weeks) has a cherry sized umbilical hernia. It feels quite taut and full of fluid. If I gently press or touch it is doesn't seem to cause discomfort.
But I would like to have it checked out and on medical records etc.. Any good London specialists I should ask GP to hook me up with?
Thanks

I doubt an nhs gp would agree to refer you at such a young age as umbilical hernias usually resolve themselves without treatment

How do I know if it is causing problems or would this be evident to a GP do you think? Have a BUPA membership burning a hole in my pocket so would quite like a chat with specialist for the jollies. Would it be a musculoskeletal man or something else do you reckon?

I think if it hasn't resolved by the age of 5/6 he will need surgery.

Indications of problems with hernia are pain, heat, redness or swelling. They are normally dealt with by general surgery.

A general surgeon would deal with it. They can resolve themselves however.
