Need urgent advise - seizure?

Just been upto check on DS (2.8) and he had taken all his clothes and nappy off (not an unusual thing to do for him)
Anyway was getting him dressed as I always do and he started shaking like he was having a fit or something for around 60 seconds

I tried to wake him and took him out of bed and stood him up, he opened his eyes but was just looking straight through me, I yelled for DP very loudly and he didn't even flinch, I was talking to him asking if he was ok but he wouldn't answer just stared at me

He doesn't have a temperature but is very very clammy and sweaty

I think I have probably just woke him from a deep sleep but would b grateful for any advise/opinions

I've checked on him sinc and he is sleeping soundly just very clammy

Call 111.

They may well want him checked out if this hasn't happened before. It does sound like a fit or seizure of some sort, although it may not be. My sister used to do something very similar, specially that sticky claminess but without a temperature.

Elkieb · 24/06/2013 21:59

Doctors, and now. Not tomorrow. If they are febrile convulsions he will need to be seen. Stay calm.

Hashtagwhatever · 24/06/2013 21:59

Call 101?
My dn has convulsions temperature related yet isn't always hot. Slightest peak and he can fit.

Hope you and ds are ok. Must of been a shock.

Hashtagwhatever · 24/06/2013 22:00

Sorry 111

TallGiraffe · 24/06/2013 22:01

Go to A&E now. Good luck and hope he's ok.

Sounds alot like a night terror to me, my dS has them.

Call NHS direct.

I would not be rushing to the hospital in a hurry though from what you have described.

lollipoppi · 24/06/2013 22:20

Shit, ok, I've phoned NHS and just waiting for a doctor to call me back, sat with him and he is just sleeping, just clammy

Night terrors may be linked as he is on a medication that has been reported to give night terrors, although he has been on it for a while now.

Will update soon thank you for all replying so quickly x

I would just keep a bit of an extra eye on him tonight. I don't see any cause for immediate concern in what you've posted. Even if it was a seizure (though I suspect not) the nhs are not particularly interested in one-off short seizures without other symptoms.

nilbyname · 24/06/2013 22:33

When DS has these, I put him in bed with me, for peace of mind.

Ragusa · 24/06/2013 22:36

I am glad you've called for help, but my first thought was night-terrors too (not a doctor, but DD had these). The standing up, sweating, and being unresponsive but seeming awake were all things DD exhibited.

lollipoppi · 24/06/2013 23:04

Thanks all, doctor called back and didn't seem too concerned, as no temp and has been absolutely fine in himself today and said to get a docs appt for tomorrow

Glad I called for piece of mind though!
I think it may be a night terror too now after consulting dr google! And like I said the meds he is on for asthma have been reported to give terrors

I have put him in bed with me for tonight just incase, so il look forward to a night of snoring and bruised ribs :-)

Thanks again x

How was he overnight, OP?

lollipoppi · 25/06/2013 08:29

Absolutely fine, and bright as a button today! Very odd!

I've got an appt with his consultant next week so il discuss the meds with her and see if I can get it reduced
