Slapped cheek - do they need to be off school once the rash has come out?

dd1 has bright red, rashy cheeks - am thinking perhaps slapped cheek?
If so, is she still ok to go to school? She says she feels fine, and I'm sure I read that the contagious period has passed once the rash has developed - any ideas???

No, contagious period has passed when rash spreads to arms and torso. I would keep her off until then.

My son had a a couple of months ago and guidelines are they can go to school if they feel well.

That might depend on the school, we had it here and had a letter back saying to keep children off when they had face rash, same at ds's preschool.

It can be dangerous for pregnant women, and if you get it as an adult it is bloody agony (still suffering now!)
