Earwax problems

Hi,

We've recently come back from a holiday in Spain and my youngest (5) was complaining that he couldn't hear properly and one of his ears felt blocked. I've had similar problems with my ears in the past but my son loves jumping in and out of the pool/sea, and I think this is part of the problem. I took him to the GP last week, and he confirmed that his ears were full of blocked wax and he prescribed him ear drops. We've been using them every day for several days now, but they don't seem to be making any difference. The GP did say that if the drops don't work, my son could have his ears syringed, but I've previously had this done and it was horrible, and I really don't want to go down this route. Does anyone have any suggestions of anything else which could help?

Thanks!

Hi Lucy, have you heard of these guys? www.clearearclinic.com I had the same problem and was recommended to the clinic by a friend. I hated ear syringing too but these guys gently 'hoover' the wax out of your ears. It feels a bit weird, but I think it's definately preferential to ear syringing, and they're all ear experts. I'm not sure where you're based, but they are in central London behind John Lewis on Oxford Street.

Great, thank you! We live near London so I'll give them a call!
