How healthy are those dried fruits?

My GP said I should give dried fruits to my toddler to increase the fibre intake. And he loves it.

However, as they are very sweet, I was wondering how healthy the dried fruits are. Could you pls advise?

My sincere thanks,

Not great for teeth, dentist could advise. The only dried fruit my dentist really doesn't like are raisins.

In the scheme of things, they aren't that bad for teeth, as long as y follow good detail hygiene. If your dc hip needs more finer it is a good natural way of increasing their intake without resorting to supplements.

Des loves dried apricots.

It is best to let your toddler eat the fruit all in one go and then brush the teeth, rather than allowing constant snacking on the dried fruit all day long.

Apart from damaging your teeth, dried fruits contain normally high levels of sulfites and sulfur dioxide, so if you want to increase his fiber intake, just give him a pear or a kiwi. Or watermelon which has a bland laxative effect.
