Severe reflux- rejecting feeds

My DS has severe reflux mx and has been rejecting feeds for more than a month. Doctors have prescribed enfamil, we bought it straight away but he wouldn't take it. It seems like he doesn't like the taste. Can anyone help me in transitioning him to enfamil, please?

Can't help with Enfamil but just wanted to offer support. DS2 had really bad reflux and it was so hard. If he won't take it, can you keep trying other stuff until he does? DS2 would drink Hipp organic which gave him terrible wind on top of the reflux so he was always bloated and shrieking but we didn't have much choice as he wouldn't drink anything else and he couldn't bf.

It's not clear, maybe you've done this, but have you tried gradually switching - ie 1oz enfamil, 5 oz normal formula, then keep upping the ratio of enfamil to normal until he is on total enfamil (so the change in taste is gradual)

Not familiar with enfamil but my DS was put on Neocate at 7 months and we were advised by the dietician to add 'Crusha' - think it is a milkshake mix - to it to make it palatable. (Neocate smells absolutely revolting - like sweaty meat!) Admittedly, DS was over weaning age, not sure how old your DS is. We experimented with a few things and settled on glucose I think - just to make it sweeter. He was having calorie supplements anyway, one of which was desweetened glucose and this was all under the guidance of our (wonderful) dietician.

Good luck - reflux and refusing feeds is very very hard for you.

When we tried enfamil with ds, it really disagreed with him, I think it just caused the acid to rise up more slowly, so he was in even more agony than usual.

What other meds have they tried? How old is your ds?

Sorry should have asked, is it silent reflux or does he bring up feeds?

It's silent reflux and he is 5 months old today.
