Joseph's ongoing journey with Neuroblastoma

I've lost count of the thread number now, but my 3 year old DS, Joseph, was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer called neuroblastoma last year.

Part-way through treatment he has relapsed (currently still clarifying that, but it's almost guaranteed) and at that point long-term survival is less than 5%.

He is beautiful and wonderful.

Just adding my crossed gingers to the mix.

Hope you and J are getting home. And, if not, that things are going well in the hospital X

youarewinning · 02/08/2013 21:15

Just checking in to say I'm still following this and wishing Joe and the whole family well.

I also wanted to tell you I am O-. I had years 18 of them! of being refused as a donor and promised mrsDV I would keep trying and eventually this year I did my first donation Grin I have done another since and I'm due again in September - however I'm going to look into turning up as it seems they'll take it now as it's in need.

Hope the next round of injections goes OK.

GooD evening trazzlefans

Just marching in with my regular nag encouragement to you to give up some of the red stuff.
Yes, it's Norksy The Vampire time again encouraging you all to support Joe, and all poorly little scraps like him, by donating a pint of your finest blood.

We cannot begin to understand the prodding, poking, needling and testing that Joe and hundreds of children like him go through every day.
The very least we can do is put up with lots of distracting small talk, a tiny finger prick, a competently inserted needle, some terrible forms and some warm squash.

Sign in all you wonderful bloodletters!
If you can't donate yourself, how about encouraging someone else to do so on your behalf?

Lots of love and crossed fingers for Joe and a big squidgy hug for trazzles x

NorksAreMessy · 03/08/2013 21:48

Going for a couple of bumps as well

NorksAreMessy · 03/08/2013 21:48

Oh how embarrassing, I seem to have posted three times in a row. How NORTY :o

Trazzletoes · 03/08/2013 22:35

Sorry have been too busy with like, actual stuff and looking after 2 DCs at the same time to post that Joe was discharged at lunchtime yesterday.

It is LUSH to have both my babies under the same roof.

DM has gone on holiday for a week so its just is 4... Perfect.

Except we told Joe we would take him to the jousting at the Royal Armouries and it appears they don't do Sundays. Unimpressed!

Great news Trazzles. It must be lovely to be home again together. Yeah!!

ClockWatchingLady · 04/08/2013 08:36

Hurrah! Brilliant you're home Smile

Norks, last month I did restart blood donations (first one since having DD - who is 3 so it's high time). For me it used to be mostly about the biscuits Grin but this time I thought of the awesome Joe.

Trazzles and family - have a wonerful Sunday

NorksAreMessy · 04/08/2013 09:18

YAY for clockwatchinglady . I like the cheesy biscuits best :)

Steamedcabbage · 04/08/2013 12:03

Yay! Smile

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 04/08/2013 13:02

So pleased to hear you're all home, as a foursome, under one roof and planning a day out. Shame about the jousting would the big axes, swords and maces keep him entertained before you get to go on a day that does it? I love things like that but very rarely take the DC as it always ends up with them trying it out themselves and one of them going too far and me shouting like a harpy at four small boys .

Norks I have had a letter from the vampires of the blood service telling me I'm free to do it again, that there is an appointment free in a week and they NEED MORE BLOOD. I have left it on the stairs so I'm currently feeling guilty every time I enter and leave the house. You are my second sign I just need to get on with it.

Ragusa · 04/08/2013 23:14

Oh that's great news. Been away for a few days to a place with no mobile reception or wifi get me out of there so nice to come back and hear Joe was discharged.

LatinForTelly · 05/08/2013 22:44

Hooray for you all being home together Grin.

onedev · 07/08/2013 00:07
