Six weeks check up - Baby boy foreskin pulled down by GP

During the postnatal check when my baby was around six weeks old, the GP pulled down the foreskin of his willy making him jump and emitting a pain cry (he stopped crying right away, it was like an "ouch that hurt!" single cry). I was quite shocked as I had read that baby's foreskin should never be rectacted but didn't say anything (I wish I had). She didn't do it for any specific reason (in the sense that my baby intimate parts looked perfectly normal and healthy, and there wasn't any issue) and I felt she did it out of excessive curiosity and not in a professional "I know what I am doing" manner. As a first time mum I was quite worried about his pain and did have a feeling he was crying that night as his willy hurted when peeing. But he didn't show any discomfort the next day and didn't have any visible problems or rashes etc.

I wonder if this happened to anyone else? Do you think she could have damaged something and he will get adhesion or problems? Or could you explain to me why the GP did it?

Thank your for sharing your experience or opinion with me.

Poor baby Sad
However my DH was circumcised when he was very young because his foreskin was too tight... It wasn't picked up properly until a GP tried to pull it back.. Maybe the GP was just ... Checking??
I don't know Blush

Poor thing. that's not on at all. Baby boys' foreskins aren't supposed to retract. They only separate as they get older. Poor wee thing, I wonder why she did that?!
