severe tummy cramps at night DD age 7

My DD, age 8, has been having tummy problems for a couple of years now.
She had a tendency to have poo accidents age 3/4/5/6 & still does occasionally (usually when playing with her friends, so think that she may just not want to stop playing). She also complained of tummy pains most of the time for a couple of years. We had numerous visits to the GP and were referred to a paediatrician - we have tried a gluten free diet, had blood tests & tummy scan - no obvious cause.
DD has a healthy diet, healthy weight etc.
The constant tummy aches seem to have abated slightly over the past few months but over the past 18 months DD has woken up around 3-4 times with severe 'tummy cramps' - usually around midnight and she is doubled up in pain, she will not stretch out or walk around she just wants to lie down with me holding her crunched up. The pain appears to come in waves and when it comes she is screaming. It is very distressing and the time before last DH & I decided that we should take her straight to A&E. we managed to get her into the car and on the way noticed that she had calmed down, we went home and she slept. Pains came again last night and I persuaded DD to get in the car and I drove around for a while and the pain subsided.
Any ideas / advice??? DH thinks that it may be stress related.
Thank you & apologies for the long winded explanation.

I'd keep going to A&E next time. Insist on more tests.

Could it be worms?

Could worms cause such severe cramps?

IBS?

suggest food diary and symptom record (we used just an ordinary notebook with find on one side and any symptoms on the other. symptoms don't often show up immediately ire make sense for a bit so worth persevering for a few weeks. if you think stress might be an issue, also record this?

Sounds like IBS. Have your gps suggested this?

As a sufferer I know how painful and tiring it is! If i have an attack i cannot stretch out and the cramps can be incredibly painful. My trigger is dairy.

Keep going with the doctors just in case. Is there a specific area where the pain is?
