knee pain in 6yr DD

she has just had a viral infection, but i am sure she has complained of this before. it is usually when she is in bed at bedtime that she starts complaining of pain in knee and (mainly) underneath the knee, on her left leg. it does seem to appear and then disappear again. i am very sure she has not injured it in any way. this may be irrelevant but she is often complaining of itchy skin, too (during the day it is mainly to do with a certain type of clothes - wool especially - but sometimes when she gets into bed she starts feeling itchy for no particualr reason) so my imagination begins to draw some very sinister scenarios. :( Any advice would be much appreciated, but I will also take her to a doc. She did have fairly extensive bloodtests done recently (when she had tummy ache caused, as it turned out, by constipation) and everything was fine. that was a few months back though. Thank you.

Hi Allag.
Try not to worry too much (easier said than done, I know!).
There are thousands of reasons for this type of thing, and only a very few unlikely ones are serious. I find there are lots of "symptoms" which come and go over time in DC and are usually never explained, which I worry at the time may be serious, and then just go away over time. I, my sister and several friends have all discussed leg pains in DCs at one point or other. Worth mentioning to doc if persistent, but very likely nothing to worry about. Hope all goes well at the doc.

Thank you ClockWatchingLady. I do always seem to have something to worry about with DD1 - she is generally healthy but does seem to have one thing after another all of which could potentially be serious so i never get to relax with her for too long! Thank you for your reassuring words though. Will watch it and speak to doc if it keeps coming back - doesn't seem to have come up again in the past couple of days.
