Tooth cracked

My dd10 fell over today and bashed her front adult tooth. It has cracked but not broken. The dentist saw her this afternoon and wants her to come back in two weeks for an X-ray and to discuss the next step once they know what has happened. No sport/running around for three weeks!
Feel sorry for her as she has had so many problems already with her baby teeth, poor little love.
Anyone had any similar experiences and what was the outcome?

Ds10 was 8 when he smacked his bottom teeth on playground, sun in his eyes could not see, it chipped off a diagonal bit of tooth, which we could not find, fab dentist filled it in with white stuff, not sure what it was, sorry, it came off 3 times and had to be redone because it was a funny angle, dentist said adult teeth still grow as they wear down and eventually it will even out, colour match was perfect, painless to do, can't tell any difference, in fact till I read your post I had forgotten about it!

Don't worry hopefully everything will be ok, sometimes if teeth are knocked the nerve inside can become inflammed and tooth may darken as nerve dies, if this happens its not the end of the world, tooth may need a root canal and later in adulthood a crown but most often than not a patch up white filling is all the tooth needs. Dentist will be waiting 2 weeks to see if any nerve damage but fingers crossed its ok...

My DS 1 fell and knocked his two front teeth age 4 and they did discolour grey permanently as the nerve was damaged, luckily only baby teeth and one has now gone. The dentist coloured the remaining one with white "filler" and it has improved the appearance.
Hoping this won't happen to your DD, but dentists can work wonders these days.
