JIA: experience of steroid injections

My dd 2.3 has recently been diagnosed with JIA (arthritis). We are due to have our steroid injections in the next couple of weeks. I was just wondering if there was anyone that could share their experience of it. Was it ok or a bit traumatic? Did it make things better? Thanks.

I don't have experience of this in young children but wanted to bump it for you. I have had steroid injections in the past into my joints, they are fairly painful to be honest, but do have a good effect starting a day or so later. I thought that they were often given under general anaesthetic for young children? But maybe this is no longer the case.

Thanks SKiffle.

Yes they will be given under general anaesthetic.
