Risk of Meningitis to my DD from DSSs other half DSis?

DSS1 & 2 were supposed to be at their mother's tonight, but today her DD (3) has been taken to hospital and is currently being investigated for meningitis. DSS1 is staying with his DM to comfort her and DSS2 will be staying at home tonight)

DSS1 & 2 (14 & 6) were last at their mother's on Saturday (Friday night - collected Saturday lunchtime).

Should I be worried about any risk to my DD (8 mo)? There's never been any direct contact between DD & DSSs other Half DSis.

I would have thought you'd be ok. My DD has meningitis when she was 6 months old and the hospital wanted to know who had had 'close and continuous contact' with her so that we could be given precautionary antibiotics (horrible things that turned your wee orange and made you feel sick!). This was classed as me, my DH and the two grandmas who had looked after her quite a bit in the days leading up to it. They weren't bothered about anyone who had had just 'some' contact and no-one caught it.
Hope everything turns out ok!

I don't think she'll be at risk but you could always call NHS.

Have your dss's been given antibiotics? Hope they don't catch it and their little sister is better soon.

Pretty unlikely to be a concern. Dd had suspected meningitis (turned out to be septicaemia without meningitis) and the health protection agency only wanted to treat direct contacts who had been with her in the previous 24hrs. She had been at nursery on the Friday, slightly unwell Sat, in intensive care by Monday and they were not at all concerned for the nursery to be given preventative antibiotics, but did let them know so that parents could be on alert for symptoms.
