Sleep crawling

Im a bit lost as to what to do here, as I am sure this must hurt but he seems unfazed by it.

My 19 m.o has sleep crawled since he could crawl. Some fidgeting in his sleep I would understand, and am used to going up to find him the other end of his cot facing the direction.

However, what is really unnerving is the ferocity at which this is achieved. Once DS reaches the end of the cot, he doesnt stop crawling, he keeps on on the spot, headbutting the end as he does so. I kid you not, but the cot actually moves position on the floor at times.

I am at a loss as to what can be done to minimise this, as surely it hurts (he nevers wakes from doing it maybe he has knocked himself out ), but also what to do when he moves from cot to bed, is he likely to be a sleep walker???

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Both of mine do this. Ds is 6 now and still crawls around his bed in his sleep and falls out and doesn't even wake up - even when giving himself a black eye!

Ps ds has never sleep walked though

Thank you so much for replying. Thanks

Six and still crawling, black eyes dont sound good!

Do they ever make it out of their room(s) or have you had to put child gates up in the doorway to stop them?
