Diahorrea in 4yo - when/how to treat? GP? DM wants me to starve her?

My dd is 4yo in reception. Not sure what this illness is and what to do...

5 days ago, I picked her up from school all fine. That night, she was sick 4 times and had diahorrea at the same time.

The following day, she had a temperature and felt rubbish. (She did not eat until lunchtime, so from yesterday's dinner, she starved for approx. 18 hrs). She did drink water and seemed reasonably ok. No vomiting, tiny bit of diahorrea once.

The next day, she had a milder temperature, no vomiting, tiny bit of diahorrea once. Seemed fine, ate normally. But then a v liquid and v smelly diahorrea at night.

The next 2 days got better, no temperature, did 2 proper solid poos, ate fine, thought I would be sending her to school today. But Suday night and this morning - 2 episodes of extremely stinky and watery diahorrea.

She seems ok. She is drinking, watching tv, read a book and seems just a it tired. But DM wants me to starve her for 24 hours and also wants me to take her to the GP. The diahorrea is pretty nasty but not particularly frequent.

Wwyd? Is there a procedure?

current advice is not to starve for D&V but to give foods as normal. Starchy foods are best e.g. pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, etc. Give plenty of fluids (except fruit juices) and if you feel she is getting dehydrated then give dioralyte alongside her other foods/drinks.

Keep her off school for 48 hours after her last d and v.

And I can't explain why but flat coke sipped, always helps with sickness in our house.

And marmite on toast seems to clear diahorrea.

But I definitely wouldn't starve her. Little and often. Starchy foods and water or weak squash.
