Dry cheeks

Hi, any advice?
My 11 mo has got really dry cheeks and forehead. Also patches on her legs and arms, but I am happy to use baby moisturiser or oil on those. Problem is, I think, we live in a really hard water area and her bathwater dries her delicate skin. What can I put on her face, or any other ideas?

Moisturiser is fine for her face too. Anything mild without perfume is fine, doesn't need to be baby branded.

I use Burt's Bees Miracle Salve on my soon who has similar. I'd only bath her every other day or so and use a bath gel with no SLS. That might help.

I always used (use) Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream - probably because it worked on me when I was young, and it has been a habit instilled in me by my mum. Actually works fantastically well, even on my younger son who has very sensitive skin.

what's SLS?

Sodium laureth sulphate - its a preservative I think, but lots of people with eczema say it exacerbates it

Ah! Right. Thanks all.

you need a moisturiser, the less ingredients the better.
for my dc with eczema we use a very fatty one (in our case weleda skin food) mornings and evenings and a light one (aveeno) during the day esp with he cold weather now.
nothing in the bath, only a little soap for the bits. bathwater not too hot and only bath rarely (when skin is bad once a week or so) and no long baths, just wash and out.

I put vaseline on the chafey bits on dd's face every night. She's 10 months.

I found it really made a difference to stop using baby wipes on DD's face - although we only used them after mealtimes, her red skin cleared up very quickly once we stopped.

Lanisoh is fantastic for dry faces. I use it on my own as well :-)
