4yo DD with thrush - any suggestions to stop the itching/stinging?

My poor little girl has got so run down recently after having the flu that she has got thrush. She keeps yelping in discomfort. Doc prescribed Daktacort (??Spelling??) creme, and a friend suggested daubing her with Bio Live yoghurt. Is there anything else that someone could recommend to make her more comfortable until creme works? Just hate seeing her so uncomfortable Sad
Thanks in advance x

Tea tree oil in the bath? The yoghurt will help.

Put the tube of cream in the fridge for a while before you apply it, the coolness may help.

Poor baby Sad

Put the yoghurt on a sanitary pad inside her knickers.

Let her go knickerless as much as possible.

Baths with salt and a few drops of tea tree oil help me.

Give her bio yoghurt to eat too.

Poor thing, hope you feel better soon.

She feels better that should be.

Oh thank you so much. I hadn't thought of tea tree oil in the bath - how many drops do you think?

Creme is now going in the fridge.

So wish I could have it instead of her, she feels so wretched xx

Canesten cream, you can buy it over the counter but for children it is probably prescription only (in spite of the fact that it is exactly the same cream).

Daktacort is the same type of medicine as canesten, just a different drug. They're both anti fungal and will do the same job. Stick with what the doc has prescribed but if you see no improvement by Monday get another appt and ask for something else.

I'd go with a relatively shallow bath and 8-10 drops of tea tree oil. Definitely no soaps or bubble bath type stuff. Then knickers off time and some cooled Daktacort.

Just tried Tea Tree bath and creme from the the fridge. Wish us luck tonight, so hope she can get a few hours uninterrupted sleep.

Big thanks for your help xx
