Anterior anus?!? Any experiences?

My DD is 4months and has a severly anterior anus. She has now been 2 weeks without having a proper poop! She strains throughout the day (going bright red in the face and screaming with pain) yet nothing happens. I have been to the Dr but since she is not constipated (her poop is not hard) he does not know what to suggest. He has given her lactoluse to administer twice a day but she has been on this for a week now and has not helped at all.

It is very distressing to see her in pain like this and when i clean her she is bleeding quite a bit. I have been told this is a problem that can only be corrected by surjury however we are currently waiting to find out about her hole in the heart so for obvious reasons surjury for this seems a long way off as they have to treat that first. I do not see how she can go on like this and surely not going for so long is not right for her body?

Anyone got any much needed advice?! Sad

Thank you for replying so quick. A referral for her to be seen by a gastro. surgeon was supposed to have been made in November. I can only imagine the GP did not understand the severity of her condition as she has not actually ever been examined by him and we still have not heard any more even after countless visits to the Dr begging him to help more. He said there is nothing to do until the referral comes through the post.

He has never come across this condition before so he did not know what to suggest. I had an appointment yesterday with him as she had a very bad day (screaming in pain) and he said there would be no use taking her to A+E as there would be nothing they could do but I am thinking to ignore him and take her anyway? Also do you think there is any way I can chase up the referral and hurry it along? x

Take her to A&E! I was actually sent to A&E when I had a problem outside my own GP's area of knowledge and he was unable to make a speedy referal to a specialist. I had to sit around for a couple if hours in A&E but saw a specialist (probably the same one!) that afternoon.
