He doesn't seem to drink a lot anyway I have to make him at home sometimes. The last few days he has skipped breakfast and refused any drink. His juice had been untouched during the school day. He has been tired and irritable and his lips are very dry and cracked. I have told him he needs to drink and insist he does have one as soon as he is home. He isn't poorly or anything he is just very stubborn!!! He used to be like as a toddler and his stools always looked hard even though he never co planned of pain. He does drink at home but not enough. I am not sure what to do :-/

Draw a line on his water bottle that he has to drink down to during the day, and ll the teacher. It worked for us!

I think you have to find a way to get some kind of liquid into him before school. If he doesn't drink before school and he's not drinking at school, the he must be going about 20 hours a day without drinking (7pm one day til 3pm the next day). I think that's really worrying.

If necessary, take him to the GP or practise nurse to get him/her to talk to your ds about the importance of drinking enough.

pack him 'wet' foods he likes.
soup
grapes
clementines
cucumber
tomatoes

dc1 is also doesn't drink a lot, I think large amounts can scare children. I give small 100ml servings instead.

I would draw a line like ilovemountains said. Or dget a smaller bottle so he can get to the end.

I think you have to make sure that he has a drink in the morning.
