Reflux

DD is 13w and has reflux. She started vomiting big time at 8-9w - it was so bad we thought she had noro but it never got better. I think it might have been silent reflux before then as she's such a poor sleeper??

The GP has given us gaviscon but it's a nightmare getting it into her and she just brings it back up.

Keeping her upright makes no difference. Sometimes it's whole feeds (she's bf) that come back up, sometimes immediately and sometimes after 2hrs. Her weight is fine thank god; we just feed frequently.

Is there anything more a gp can do, is it worth going back or do we just soldier on? Is it common to come on so suddenly? When will she grow out of it? Is there anything else I can do? (I am cow's milk free but no difference)

Not sure how you have tried giving the Gaviscon, but both my DD (now 2) and my 5 month old DS had/have reflux...sadly Gaviscon sachets can be found in every drawer in our house!
I found mixing 1 sachet with 3mls warm water in a bottle lid and sucking it into an oral syringe worked really well. I always gave it before a feed and it took a day or two until both of them willingly had it as they realised a feed was next! My DD was really sick and it made a difference, but she was still sicker than the average. How long have you been cows milk free? Took a good 6 weeks (of misery) to see a difference in my DS.

6 weeks! Only a week, I assumed I'd see a difference in that time. I've been giving gaviscon after feed, I will try it before.

We've tried a bottle but she doesn't know what to do with it (she's bf), a syringe but it shot the whole contents into her mouth and she spat it out, a spoon but it dribbles out.... pippet is next on the list lol
