Can't quite put my finger on it...

But DD doesn't seem quite right...

She's 21mths and has been hitting all the developmental milestones fine so far as I'm aware.

One thing that everyone has commented on over past couple of months is how good her speech is. Recently this seems to have taken a backward step and now I often struggle to understand her. E.g. A couple of weeks ago she could say 'orange juice' and be understood by anyone, now DH struggles to understand what she's asking for.

Around the same time she's started needing more cuddles, wanting to lie down with me/ her doll and pretend to sleep. This is a new thing. Today when I picked her up from nursery they told me she had been the same here and wasn't her normal lively self getting involved in everything.

She had a pretty bad cough over new year but has otherwise been fine. We have an appointment to see an ENT specialist later this month due to persistent ear infections last year although she's been clear for over a month.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it likely to be hearing related or something else? Or nothing at all and completely normal?!!

It could be something or nothing. I don't think however right now you need to be too worried. I'd maybe keep a log of the issues you are seeing over a while and see what the ENT says too. If you have ongoing concerns after all this then worth a trip to the GP and then ask to see a developmental paediatrician for a full review.

Good idea to keep a note of things thx. I'll take it sling and see what ENT say. Had another day at nursery where she just wanted to lie down, suck her thumb and look at books.

Doesn't sound right to me. I would take her back to the gp and keep a diary for go and the ENT appointment.
