I was never shown how to clean my childrens teeth correctly.(and I don't remember ever being shown how to clean mine properly tbh)

How did you learn the correct technique?

I am not sure my dentist would really have the time to show me/us. Does anyone know if you have to pay to see the dental hygienist (if you go to a NHS practice) if you want them to show the children how to clean their teeth properly?

Any suggestions of how I can find out if I am doing the best I can for my kids teeth would be gratefully received.

Hi
I thought I was cleaning DS' teeth properly but I was not. The dentist keeps telling me I am NOT doing it properly each time we go but I am still not sure exactly what to do.

She said that I needed to get in to the gum line better. she also said to use adult not children's toothpaste - ensure 1450pp at least.

According to the "aquafresh team member" you need to brush around making sure you clean each tooth. I think there is something on their website.

Will be interested to see if anyone has better clearer tips..

gilmore that's interesting to hear about the adult toothpaste.

It seems that every bit of information I have discovered about dental hygiene has been because I have sought it out.

I don't understand why this has been the case.

While I actively encourage the kids to clean every surface of their teeth, its so hard to know how exactly, or what pressure to use, without in depth advice and/or demonstration.
