Chicken pox :(

DS has chicken pox :(

For the last hour spots have been popping up everywhere :( I've been to the pharmacy and got some calamine cream but he seems fine at the moment.

If me and OH have both had them, is it safe to go to work tomorrow? My mother would be looking after DS and both she and my Dad have had them

Oh no, your poor DS.

You and your OH are not contagious, so there is no reason why you should not go to work.

I slathered DS in Poxlciline (sp?), when he had CP. It worked wonders. Sudacream is good once the pox start to scab.

I hope you DS feels better soon!

I second Poxicilin, also Virasoothe.

Another vote for Poxclin. It's much much better than calamine cream. IME the spots get more hot and itchy on day 2/3 and Poxclin was brilliant at soothing the itchiness. It's also like a watery mousse so easy to slap in as well.

Thanks :)

I got some liquid Piriton and hopefully that will do the job because he hates having cream on.

He was being his usual self, so fingers crossed it won't bother him too much.

And on the plus side, I phoned my work who said to stay at home just to be safe Xmas Grin

Vita soothe was invented by one of the parents at ds1's nursery. He trialled it on willing kids a few years back (obviously with parental consent Grin). This was about 1 week after ds1 returned after having chicken pox.

From those who tested it the reports were excellent.
