You would know if one of your DC broke their big toe, wouldn't you?

DS2 (14mths) managed to pull the glass bathroom scales on his foot, cried but seemed ok. When bathing him tonight I noticed a large black bruise across the base off his toe. He's walking ok and seems to be fine.

Shall I wait and see or see GP tomorrow? Normally wouldn't worry but the bruise is nasty Sad

Not necessarily (know if its broken) - I know a few people who have missed fractures in their children because they are often quite stable (sounds like I have awful friends now!!) So wont hurt to get it checked out I reckon, will probably be fine but you are worried for a reason.

Toes are hard to tell if broken, I think.

Pochemuchka · 17/12/2012 20:54

Not necessarily - I didn't notice either time I'd broken my big toe!

Take him for a check up if you're worried but I'm pretty sure there's not much they can do anyway.

I wouldn't worry. Even if toe is broken there isn't really any treatment for it. Do you need to go just for your GP to say, 'Yep. You're right. It's broken'? They won't do anything other than confirm it.

Pochemuchka · 17/12/2012 20:56

When I say 'didn't notice' I mean straight away not 'at all' otherwise I'd never have known it was broken obviously - duh. Confused addled pregnant brain!

all that A&E would do is strap it up anyway - im always breaking my bloody toes.
