dd2 has a blistery rash and ulcery things in her mouth, one looks raw and bleedy the others are just little lumps. she is not unwell and has no other stops, could it be hand foot and mouth or what else (just ulcers from end of term tiredness?)

I once broke out in ulcers and coldsore thingys. I was about 9 I think. They were all over my chin, the inside of my mouth and down my throat. There was nothing else wrong with me.

Maybe its that? I think I went to the docs but I cant remember the treatment.

Does she have sensitive hands or feet? DS2 complained of sore palms with major ulcers in his mouth, and I think he had hand, foot and mouth. There are a number of different versions of the viruses, and they present slightly differently.

DD had just the mouth bit and couldn't eat. We had been in contact with someone with hand foot and mouth and the GP confirmed that DD's was hand foot and mouth. Obviously I can't guarantee that your DD has the same.

I dont think she has been in contact, but I run a baby group and I know a few of the babies have had it, so thinking I have got it for her, arent I kind.

Has she been in contact with anyone with a coldsore?

The first exposure to coldsores can be a series of ulcers inside the mouth without on the lips. Often precluded with a temp spike 2-3 days before.

Can be treated with oral acyclovir but must see a Dr for prompt treatment.

Eating anything acidic will hurt. Both my dds lived on yoghurt for a week when they had it.

my ds had it only in his mouth. very blistered and couldn't eat for days. Also had rash on his genitals which can sometimes also occurr apparently
