My five year old DD has a 'pregnancy line' (Linear Nigra?) on her tummy. Is this normal?

It's faint but noticeable - Her brother has an even fainter and thinner one his tummy - but his is barely noticeable. I don't want to make her feel self conscious about it by taking her to the doctors so I was wondering if anyone else's dd's have this or not. Bit worried.

Forgot to say, got to go back in a month, but she really wasn't worried.

My ds has this- since he was born. He is mixed race- but only 1/8 african Grin

I worry about my DS too, he also has a few health problems... a couple of doctors have asked about his cafe au lait birthmarks which can be symptomatic of a few neurological syndromes.. hence lots of googling on my part. Just to reassure you you're not the only one!

Hello, I'm an 13 year old and I have a line aswell under my belly button. What does that mean?

hungrytillater · 27/06/2017 06:46

Glad you were reassured op. Ds has one, I assumed it was normal for him as he is mixed race.

I had it as a small child. I thought of it as a 'symmetry line'. It never meant anything sinister.

If it's any reassurance, I'm white with white parents and grandparents.
