ds "exploded" last monday evening,3x more inthe night.not feverish or generally unwell
everytime ate teas and wed 20mins later out it came.spoke gp wed, told bring in a stool sample and feed whateer he fancies, but not too much dairy

he is a very slender lad,no body fat really and is becoming quite tired.hes down to 1-2 trips a day that are loose as opposed to water, still has tummy ache few minutes prior to going
no one else in the house been unwell, all eaten the same and been same places

he is currently managing on rice cakes, bananas, toast and the odd sandwich

his stool sample results are due back monday pm and will prob return doctors tues if still not back to normal

any words of wisdom to help a tired and worried mum as doctors are not particularly concerned as fluids seem to stay put?

Try giving him coconut water if he will take it. Does wonders for rehydration and may knock out the loose stools once and for all!

Full fat coke might help. Rice is linked to constipation, so might be helpful in this case. Good luck!

Not sure about the coconut water but actually, it is meant to be flat coke anyway, so that might address the bubble issue. Wink Tell them it is medicine and they need to make do with the taste.

More seriously though, I hope you get a proper diagnosis from the doctors. Good luck!

thanks rattitude
his sample came back as negative for infection
he seems a lot better today although has tummy pains intermittantly and says it feels hard and big
he has had a normal poo and is going back to school toorrow with an app to see gp on 1/10
we think it may be stress related as he is a bit anxious kid and he had rubbish immunity
fingers x the gp will have some answers!

7 days is not unusual for diarrhoea. Its usually worse at the beginning and then tapers off. second what others say re the boring diet. 7-10 days can be how long diarrhoea takes to go. vomiting much less 1-3 days.

Poor little thing! I hope he feels much better very soon
