Are there any reasons why we shouldn't give asthmatic ds the flu vaccine?

Just that really, ds has been offered the flu vaccine as he is in the high risk group for being 4yrs old and asthmatic.
Are there any reasons why we shouldn't just go ahead with it?
Are there any risks / side effects we should think about, or is it as straight forward as all his other pre school vaccinations?

Ds had his last year he had to have two because it was his first time - he was almost 5- no side effects - personally I will alway gets him it as he caught swine flu aged just 4 and it developed into pneumonia.

I would let him have the flu vaccine. He should be free of any illness, including colds, in order to build up a good immunity. If it is his first flu vaccine then it is likely that he will be given a booster a few weeks later.

Ds is nearly 3 and has had flu jab the last 2 winters because of his asthma and will be having it this winter. He has had no problems with the flu jab and as a common cold lands him in hopsital I want to reduce the chances of him getting anything worse.

mine has it every year, without complications.

However, if he is allergic to eggs, discuss with your GP as I believe the flu vaccine has some preparation with eggs involved - could be talking out my arse tho!
