my three year old daughter has contracted hand foot and mouth disease. i know its not dangerous and dr has told me it just has to run its course. my main worry is my nine week old. he hasnt showed any symptoms as of yet.
my two year old had a fever last saturday. was right as rain sunday but complained of a sore mouth. monday spots appear on legs which dissapeared today but she has about five very small spots on each hand and a few on her toes. and lookin in her mouth she has a one or two on the inside of her cheeks. she is completely fine though hasnt complained once. im just wondering if my newborn is going to catch it would she have by now? or could she have it so mild not to notice? since my daughters got it pretty mild im wondering will my baby be the same. im really worried about her. when is the disease most contagious? some websites say when the fever is present only and others say weeks after the fever.. thank you

My daughter had it when I was pregnant and the doctor was not too concerned just said watch hygiene. It can be contagious but there is nothing you can do. You would notice the spots on newborn but no other children we know of at nursery had it before or afterwards so it can't be that contagious!
