Just found spat out remains of conker. About the size of a hazelnut. Looks like the middle has been eaten. They are poisonous, but I don't know how much? What should I do?

Phone NHS direct. They will speak to you sooner if they feel it is urgent. Do not ask us. Ask the professionals.

ValiumQueen · 07/09/2012 20:45

A quick google states death can occur. Do not hesitate. Call NHS 24

ValiumQueen · 07/09/2012 20:46

Apparently takes about 16 hours for symptoms to show, so do not wait until child seems unwell. Act now.

HotHotNot · 07/09/2012 20:49

Nhs 24 says safe to manage at home Shock will have to make another trip to A&E this one is giving e so many greys!

Well they spoke to another dept. and cofirmedvI am just to observe her at home because she only ate a tiny amount which is only likely to cause stomach upset, if anything.

Thanks to Thosecwho responded especially ValiumQueen a bit of virtual handholding meant a lot.

Is your little one ok? My daughter has just done the same! Also rang nhs direct and given the same advice

HotHotNot · 14/09/2012 21:45

Sorry MummyJH just saw this, yes she is fine with no noticeable effects at all except even more bags under my eyes. Hope your wee one is doing fine now also. They do like to keep you on your toes, don't they! Mine has now discovered how to climb up and play with the window blind cords, it will be something else tomorrow.....
