kid's teeth and fluoride

it's seems like every brand of toothpaste for 4-6 year olds is a horrible fruity flavour which my four year old hates (understandably i think!). so should i let her use her toothpaste for younger children (less fluoride) or older children (more fluoride). or does it matter?

If she uses less of the older toothpaste i can't see it hurting her. If you are worried use the lower one. And ask her dentist they may be able to recommend a brand that she likes better.

aquafresh little teeth is mint and has low fluoride. My kids also can't stand the fake fruit stuff.

We don't have fluoridated water so I give my kids regular adults fresh mint toothpaste and use just a smear. However I'd use a kids version if the water was fluoridated.

They have tried kids toothpastes and the only one they would actually use is the Stages Berry one (with winnie-the-pooh on)

I have never used fruity toothpaste for the kids. Aquafresh and colgate both do minty kids toothpaste. DS currently uses a sensodyne pronamel kids toothpaste and dd is using an adult colgate toothpaste and sometimes has the aquafresh mild and minty adult toothpaste.

p.s. the aquafresh for age 4-6 has the same fluoride as the aquafresh age 6+ toothpaste
