Ulcerated tongue - any top tips for palatable food?

My 2 year old DD has Hand, Foot and Mouth disease and her tongue has several ulcers on it. She wants to eat but whenever anything goes in her mouth she starts to scream. She's drinking milk but I'd like to be able to give her something to eat.

Any suggestions?

bland carbs? Bread/butter; rice / rice pudding / pasta and olive oil?

Cottage cheese?

Frozen yoghurt - the cold might numb the mouth a bit. I'd literally get plain yog and freeze, so as to avoid any stingy fruit/acid flavours.

Frozen mashed fruit and veg?

Super chicken noodle soup from knorr?

Cheesy mash?

Thanks, she's napping at the moment so I've just made some custard to cool in the fridge and see if she can take that. Even bland foods are upsetting her as she tries to move them round her mouth with her tongue. I'm hoping the custard will just slip down. Yoghurt (despite her loving it normally) led to screams yesterday but I'll try some plain later.

Juicing fruits and veggies is a good way to keep the nutrients in. Bless her heart poor thing.

DPs son had terrible chicken pox inside his mouth and lips and I think he lived on Ben and jerrys and cheesy mash for a week and a half.

Fruit is out as the acidic juice hurts straightaway. Even chocolate flavoured Complan led to screams when she stopped sucking on the straw and it reached the ulcers. Looks like she'll be on a milk diet for a few days yet but I'll keep trying other things.

ice lollys, milk ones I find really soothing, custard, milkshake.

Avoid fruit (youve worked that out).

DD1 & 3 lived on yoghurt for a week when they both had badly ulcerated mouth due to a primary herpes infection.
