Dizzy child

Hi, my 9 year old complains of dizziness on and off. She did last Summer and it went away in a few weeks. Now she might complain one day but not the next.

She says she feels she is spinning. She is walking normally, no eye flickering, and she can stand with her eyes closed. When she gets up in a morning she is not dizzy.

I think she is either imagining it or it is caused by anxiety. She is prone to bouts of anxiety and she never complains of it when she is out with her friends or busy with someone else.

Anyone else had this.

It could be a middle ear infection that is causing it. I used to suffer from dizzy spell as well which were similarly unpredictable, but i was an adult. I would all but pass out on the kitchen floor some days, but other days be perfectly okay. Its worth getting checked. They never did find what was wrong with me, though it seems to have gone now.

Thanks for that :)

She says she only gets dizzy when she thinks about it. I am wondering if it could be slight dehydration as she normally drinks 2-3l per day but it is hot and she is not drinking as much

It could be dehydration, it could also be iron deficency as well. That would make her go dizzy unpredicatably. My iron deficency used to seemingly be made better by something sugary, reality it was my iron being low. Maybe a quick check over wouldnt do any harm, just to be sure. Though they will most likely find her to be fine, but if its iron deficency or a middle ear infection, both are easily treated.
