How do I get my 11 month old to swallow calpol?

dd appears to be teething and is really suffering, we were up most of last night with her screaming and she is not much better today! I'm desperate to get a dose of calpol into her but nothing seems to work. She won't eat anything so mixing it with food isn't an option. I've tried pinning her down and syringing it in to her but she still doesn't swallow it, she screams so much that she can't swallow so chokes then spits it out again! I feel like I'm torturing her by doing this, is there anything else I can do? Or is anyone aware of a childrens painkiller that comes in powder form as that might be easier to get her to take. I already have teething powder (nelsons teetha) but this doesn't seem to help much.

get suppositories from the chemist.

Poor everyone, that sounds rough.

I am fairly sure you can buy paracetomol suppositories for children from a pharmacy. (I haven't done it but my friend has.) Wish I'd known when my DC were babies.

It would certainly solve the problem of getting them to take it!

Suppositories are great.

In Ireland you can get ibuprofen suppositories too.

thank you, I had no idea you could buy those. Hopefully that should solve the problem
