Molluscum contagiosum alternative remedies

Just after a quick consensus really. DD has had Molluscum contagiosum for the last year. She is 6 and it is becoming very noticeable now and she really hates it and gets really embarrassed about it. I have read numerous threads on here of people reporting that children can have for 2 years or more.

I really want to try and get rid now. Have been out today and bought Comfrey Oil, Tea Tree Oil and some Thuja. With regards to the oils, does anyone have any opinions on what is more likely to do the trick? I don't want to smother her with both. Comfrey is meant to be a healent for the skin and Tea Tree is good for warts so I really don't know which one to choose first.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has used either. Want to start after the bath tonight so quick responses would be great!

My dd has had this for just over a year now - we have tried comfrey oil but nothing changed, the doctor offered to freeze them but dd screamed and wouldn't let her do any more than one. I'm also keen to know if anyone has a remedy as they are very noticeable. My mum said she saw a programme where the doctor prescribed antibiotics or something for them and they cleared up really quickly but our doctor said it must have been different spots. Watching the thread with interest and hope!

My son had them...we used tea tree cream which made a significant difference quite quickly...not an immediate cure I'm afraid. My son was really Embarrassed about
them too, but it was be of those things that all of a sudden you noticed had gone. I hope you have some luck with whatever you use.

My DD had this a few years ago. Tried everything, and then found Goldenseal tincture. Starting using that coincided with her having chickenpox at which point, it all disappeared. Will never be too sure which cured her, but worth a try! And whatever you do, don't squeeze! My DD has some little scars after I read about try to get rid of the 'herald' spot Sad

After years of never going away the doctor told us to put a plaster over each one and they were gone in about 3 weeks. When they burst the spores explode over the skin creating new ones. By preventing the explosion they eventually all die out. We were amazed at the results!

Tea tree oil worked on my DD. she had lots on her torso for about a year. I started dabbing each spot with an ear bud dipped in tea tree oil every morning and eve and thet had disappeared within a week

I have no experience of this but experience on here says Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is a miracle cure for molluscum. Might be worth a try?

Well I went with the Tea Tree Oil. And I have also started her on Thuja orally. I don't know if it is wishful thinking on my part but they already look a lot more dried up then they did yesterday and although still as big, perhaps not as prominent.

Have just done it again this morning so we will see what happens over the next few days. We are going on holiday on Thursday and poor DD is really worried about people seeing them when she's in her swimming costume as she has a really big cluster of huge spots right under her arm and across her torso. It would be brilliant if we could get them smaller in time for the holiday.
