DD and I are out in Singapore visiting my husband who is working out here. DD is 3 months old. Last night was possibly the worst night of my life. DD woke up screaming and continued until 4am. She wouldn't eat or sleep. Ever since she had her first vaccines she has been having these collicy periods where she will scream and scream without feeding but normally they last for 10-15 minutes not 5-6 hours. The thing is that during these episodes if we can calm her down she will give wonderful smiles but then will just set off again. Last night we tried everything we could think of and eventually for no reason I could see stopped, fed then fell asleep. Tonight is shaping up to be just as bad. As she is ebf I have been questioning my milk and bought some formula but she won't take it, tried with a syringe but she was screaming so much and spluttering we stopped. The only way she will stay calm is to be help upright. We are already on medication for reflux (Zantac). Before this she was such a good sleeper/eater and was doing at least 10 hours a night. The last two nights have been worse than when she was a newborn. To make matters worse we are in a hotel and are obviously upsetting other guests, which just adds to my stress and worry. We have a paediatrician appointment in a couple of days time. Just wondered if anyone has any advice really?

Also for about a week every single nappy has has very soft stool, which is sometimes green. This is also so unlike her as before this she was a two things a week baby. Last doctor did a culture test on her stool and it came back normal.
Sorry for the long post. She is now sleeping on my shoulder and I'm actually terrified of moving her! Help

Hi, my 1 year old dd woke up crying and wouldn't stop (very unlike her) and then had a temp and was very slightly gaspy. I went to the doctors and to cut a long story short, they think she had an ear and throat virus. When reading your post I did think "ears". Hope all is better now.

DeWe · 14/08/2012 08:44

I thought ears too.
Lets hope not. Ds reacted badly to his first jabs then got his first ear infection at about 3 months-and continued with almost constant infections until he had grommets in at 20 months. He was ebf too.

Sounds like ears to me too, they could be causing it to hurt when she swallows. See a GP as she doesn't sound well x
