Is there anything better (more discreet) than drynites for a 10yo?

My DN has quite a severe bedwetting problem and is seeing a consultant for this. Lots has been tried, to no avail so I think it's going to be a watch and wait type situation. Problem is he is going on his school journey soon and drynites will be too conspicious. Is there anything else that is a bit more discreet for this age range?

FWIW dsis and family have literally tried everything and there are obviously a range of physical problems contributing to this issue so no hope of getting it sorted in the short run, in time for the trip, but would love DN to feel a bit more confident about this and not to have to worry about being embarrassed in front of friends.

No experience of this myself, but could one of the nurses at your doctors practise recommend anything? If they don't know, they might know who to ask. You can generally talk to a nurse on the phone without making an appt at our practise, so that might be an option.

Your gp should be able to prescribe Desmopressin. It works by reducing urine production at night. I used it for my ds when he was going on a school trip age 10 and it was very effective.

thanks for the responses. He's been on desmopressin already - but without much success. It reduced the bedwetting from 3x per night to 2x per night. It's really quite a severe case I think.

The family have already explored everything that the NHS has to offer but wondered if there was something else available out there (like a plastic bag and an elastic band! I might go into business myself with that idea!).

I don't know of any other products but maybe it would help if your sister and the school have a meeting before the trip to discuss what could be done to make it less embarrassing for your DN.

It can help if there's a way for your DN to wake up first so that he can change and wash before anyone else in his room notices.

It's also useful if the school can arrange a way to dispose of the used drynites quickly and discreetly.
