Nivea et al bring her up in terrible itchy rashes. Don't know where to start - want a high factor in something gentle - I'd be so grateful for some advice please. She is 9 btw. Thank you.

Aveeno do a sun cream. I have only seen it in Savers but it is only £2.99

Sudocrem and Bepanthen both do one, think I found them in Boots, seems to suit DS's sensitive skin, family history of eczema etc. :)

Amazing. Thanks both. Will get some.

Proderm Sun Mousse! Its supposed to be used by people with eczema but we use it on our oldest boy who has very sensitive skin and who seems to be allergic to something in most suncreams...he comes out in red itchy lumps all over him whenever he comes into contact with suncream but this was recommended by GP and its been fantastic. Its like a hair mousse in a can and when you put it on its not sticky-we actually all use it now including 19 month old DS2 and have converted the teachers at DS1's school as well. I think the highest spf it comes in is 30 but tbh we just apply it more frequently cause we were advised that the really high spf just block the pores of the skin which makes it react. Think its about £13 but has been really worth it.

Great! Do you just get in from boots or wherever?

I second the suggestion for Proderm Mousse. It's the only sun product that doesn't bring DS out in an angry red itchy rash.

It's now called The Sun Mousse and you can buy it in larger Boots stores on online. The kids version is SPF50. Worth every penny.

Ive never managed to find it in Boots but great to know that some do sell it...I didn't know they do it in 50spf either (we're going to Dubai next year so will definitely get that then!).

I usually get it online at the start of the summer (and get a spare one as well!).

You honestly can't tell you've got it on which is always a bonus...and no sand sticking to it either!

My daughter was sensitive to suncream too and the dr gave us E45 suncream on prescription so might be worth seeing dr for it.

civilfawlty · 30/07/2012 21:14

Found it. It's 1/3 off at boots at the moment.

Follow up question: how many bottles per child per week please?

Thank you again.

We've had one bottle going the whole summer so far...it does seem to go a long way but to be fair we haven't really had a huge amount of sunny weather apart from last week! Id probably get 3 bottles to last the whole summer for all of us if thats any help?

Im off to get some more if its on offer at Boots lol!

I've tried pretty much all the high street brands and none worked, except sunsense toddler milk. It's developed in Australia and available on amazon. Grin
