Do I need to diagnose this rash?

DD (11) has a widespread rash. Everything covered from neck down including hands and feet.

Google images results suggest that it may be rubella (but didn't start behind ears and she is immunised so don't think its that, although does have cold symptoms, mild fever and maybe conjunctivitis).

Google images also suggests rosasea infantagium, but fever not high enough and rarely affects over 2's.

Is k.owing what it is going to change anything?

I wouldn't take her to GP in case it is something like rubella. I can't imagine NHS Direct working well for a rash.

I am keeping her out of public places (much to her and other DCs annoyance). Would be nice to know if that's really necessary and how long for I guess.

Oh and I should say that it blanches under pressure...obviously checked that.

You could take her to gp if you called beforehand so she isn't left sitting in the waiting room with any vulnerable people.

The rash has just about gone now.

It was more of a do I need to know.

I think it was something from.same family as rubella, and would have most likely been given the diagnosis of 'viral infection'. Based on googling the rash looked the same. She had a mild temp, loss of apetite and red puffy eyes, and the rash looks as tho it will have been the classic 3 day rash. The only thing that didn't fit was a complete absence of rash behind the ears & neck.
