Verrucas - what's the current advice?

Have just noticed a couple of verrucas on DD, 7yo. I know I can try banana skin / duct tape / over the counter things to get rid, but what is the current advice, does any one know?

Back in my day, it meant a trip to the verruca clinic and a plastic sock when swimming. I suspect the verruca clinics are long gone now. DD has 2x swimming lessons per week, yet I can't rememeber ever seeing anyone wearing a verruca sock. Are they just Not Done now, does anyone know?

Viruses dont have "cures". Your body has to make antibodies and get rid of them itself.

iirc they grow from the stratum spinosum, thats quite far down in the skin.

Anyone have any ideas as to why my body has failed to make antibodies in the 23yrs since my wart first appeared? Is it just a bit crap?

Do not dispare i have the answer for getting rid of veruccas!!

My 6yr old son had 2 stubborn veruccas that wouldnt budge no matter what we tried, all the usual, bazucca, duct-tape, freezing and more continued to appear. At my wits end i saw a different gp that suggested a new technique for getting rid of veruccas, he perscribed zinc sulphate (slovazinc). This needed to be added to his food or drink twice a day but he complained it made everything taste funny and refused to take them! Arghh!
He has always had the kids chewy multivitamin each morning so i opted for the vitamin C with ZINC suitable for age 6 onwards and HEY PRESTO within 3-4 weeks they had all completely disappeared!!!!!!
Definately worth a try as i understand it the Zinc boosts their immune system as does the vitamin C!

I hope this helps.
