Mild-ish eczema - what suncream/bath cream will not aggravate? And over-the-counter treatment?

DS2 (3) has eczema patches behind his knees and on his elbows. He hates suncream going on them. Any tips on what suncream will not aggravate it?

Also, what about bathcreams? We use E45 Junior, but he doesn't like sitting down in the water as it stings.

And, he is very resistant to having a cream go on. Should I put Aveeno on? I haven't taken him to the doctor yet as it's not severe eczema, but should I take him for a prescription? Or is that overkill?

Thanks for any help.

Oilatum

You can buy over the counter but a GP can also prescribe

For suncream, I found Tesco Baby (factor 50) was the only one not to aggravate DS2's eczema. It's one of those ones that leaves a ghostly sheen on their skin, which I think helps, because the sunscreen chemical lies on top of their skin, rather than sinking in.

I saw that Helios have a new eczema cream out, looks good (expensive but...) and Green People do a sensitive suncream for children which IS good.

Oilatum for bath
Tesco own for sunscreen
Green People for everything

I used to use Salcura bath oil.

I use lovea factor fifty children's sun spray on my dd. It's brilliant but pricey at around £14.99 I think. But it didn't aggrevate even the sore patches of skin on my dd. It's not greasy so doesn't sit on skin for ages making them itchy and has a really light pleasant smell. And no rash unlike other shop bought sun screams. I also use a'kin fragrance free body wash which again is very gentle on the skin. And I promise I'm not advertising just trying to pass on what has worked wonders for my poor dds skin and a'kin fragrance free replenishing body moist is nothing short of a miracle cream on my eczema ridden child. Again pricy at £14.99 but by god is it worth it. Twice a day has worked magic. Far far better than any of the six/seven different creams from gp! :)

Google "Eczema society sunscreens". They have a pdf with all different brands and any potential problem ingredients etc. listed.

We use Sunsense toddler milk.

For baths, we used to use Green People stuff, but now I just let her play in plain water and give her a wash at the end, I don't have to be as strict. Or maybe her eczema just isn't as bad any more!
