Should I take my baby to the GP *again* with this rash?

Has had for 5 weeks, have been to GP 3 x over this time with two diagnoses of chickenpox (is this possible?) and the last (one week ago) a diag of tonsillitis and strep rash. Was given a two week course of anti biotics and ds does seem better, temperature gone etc but spots still there and new ones appearing. They are red bumps with tiny, white heads in the middle.

I am at a loss. I feel if I see GP again they will just sigh and say "virus" but I figure how can that be if it was a strep infection, and if so, why hasn't it gone?!

Any advice? Sorry for the ramble. I'm a bit worried tbh.

I'd take him back if I was worried. GPs don't seem to mind seeing babies/young children. I hope he's feeling ok and not too poorly with whatever he's got.

I'm having a similar dilemma! Three weeks ago 10mo DD had spots on arms/legs that looked like insect bites in appearance. GP said it was viral. Last week they reappeared but 10x as red and 10x as many. GP said chickenpox and that they'd blister. They haven't blistered and have gotten steadily worse over the week with more appearing, very red, and some of the large ones have sort of merged together. She's been happy in herself though so we've just kept an eye on her. Today she's whiny, warmer to the touch than usual and clingy.

I'm taking her back even though they'll probably say virus but I'm in that two minds situation because they'll probably be thinking 'you again!' and there's more than likely nothing they can do. On the other hand I am worried about her so that why I'm ringing for an appointment. If you're at all concerned take him back.

cbear sounds like same spots as my ds. Ds isn't covered in them now, just odd ones here and there but 5 weeks ago he had loads. Interesting because his never blistered or scabbed over and didn't seem to itch or bother him. I think it's worth taking your dd in case of anything underlying; in ds's case a strep infection (bacterial) so anti biotics required. Prob with us is that it's just not gone, although he is well now and was poorly before.

If you find out what your dd has, I'd love to know!
