Hi all,
I'm new to this site & am really happy to 'be' here! I took my 2 ds to the dentist for a checkup & was quite surprised when the whole process for both of them took less than 6 or 7 minutes.
The last time they went to a dentist (OS) it was a much more thorough process: teeth checked, cleaned & treated with fluoride. This visit consisted in a visual inspection of the teeth & advice to the kids to remember to brush properly.
I enquiried whether they were going to clean & treat with fluoride but was told they don't clean children's teeth as they are too delicate or words to that effect.
I wouldn't mind some feedback from other members about what one should expect at a child's six month dental checkup. I just feel really funny because I've done the right thing & taken them to get their teeth looked after but the end result is exactly the same as if I hadn't bothered. Should I try a different dentist? Would an actual paediatric dentist be better? Thanks!
