Spots came up yesterday were at Centerparcs so luckily not abroad. I've kept her from swimming today and generally going out but tomorrows our last day. She has a pyjama party tomorrow night shell be gutted to miss (she's 4). She only has about 30 spots about 5 on her face.

I shouldn't be sending her to the pyjama party shouldn't I?

At least 5 days, sorry.

I think it is most infectious the day before the spots come out, and is no longer infectious when the final spot has crusted over.

I wonder if you should tell the management at the CentreParcs site that your dd has developed cp - they might put up some sort of notification that there is a case of chicken pox on-site, for the benefit of parents of small children, anyone immuno-compromised, or any pregnant women.

It is a real shame that this has happened on your holiday, and I hope your dd isn't feeling too poorly, and that she makes a quick recovery.

Yes its approx 5 days or until they have crusted over. Its not worth the risk to pg women I'm afraid. Sorry your holiday has ended like this, chickenpox is such a bugger, but at least its out of the way!
