Laxitives for children

DD (2years old) has been prescribed movicol soluble powder which I'm finding it almost impossible to get into her. Just wondering if there are children's laxatives that come as a liquid medicine that could be administered with a syringe rather than as a drink. Really dont want to go back to the doctors yet again just to ask about this, we've been there so many times in the past couple of weeks!

Have you tried mixing it into yoghurt? It's the only way DD1 will take it (when she was younger she wasn't aware it was in there, but now she knows she calls it fairydust!!)...

No haven't tried that, thank you! We've tried just about every drink on the planet but didn't know we could use yoghurt. Many millions of thank yous, hopefully DD will cooperate now Grin

Hi
I used to syringe it in and it was fine

I would speak to your GP first but there is a liquid laxitive called Lactulose, it can be bought over the counter at a pharmacy and is suitable for children.

Thanks for all your replies, good to know we've got options Smile it hadn't actually occurred to me to syringe the movicol rather than giving her it in a cup Blush. She finally pooed today anyway, happy days!
