7 month old waking, wailing and arching back at night!!!

Hi there
My 7 month old has spent the last week waking up around 2/3 at night, wailing and arching his back. He then wakes at least another 4-5 times during the night and I have to end up putting him into bed with me as he cries as soon as I put him down.
He's had a bit of a cold and so is snotty, although I'm not convinced it's solely due to this. I started weaning him about 6 weeks ago and was wondering if it could be due to reflux? He had this when he was on milk but it didn't seem to cause him pain, he'd just spit up loads. He has eczema and am wondering if he's allergic to yoghurt? Maybe teething but do they wail in distress or is it more winging? He also had a tumble off the bed the day before it started - he cried but seemed to be fine.
Blimey, so many possibilities -I'm totally exhausted and not sure what to do!!!
Just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience?
Thanks

Sorry, sounds dreadful for you. It shouldn't be reflux at his age, as usually the valve at the top of the stomach has strengthened to stop the acid coming out of the stomach. It could be trapped wind which is causing this.

Could he possibly be constipated? Quite easy for this to happen once you start weaning. If this could be the case, some orange juice will help.

I was going to say constipation too Smile

Thanks guys, he's pooping a few times a day but it is pretty solid - like playdough. Is this what it's meant to be like? He's my first if you haven't guessed!

Could he be dairy intolerant? Both mine were and got very bad stomach cramps when I ate dairy (bf).

Is he any better today?

Sounds like it could be a touch of constipation. Try giving him a small amount of orange juice or a couple of orange segments, or chop up a prune into porridge, and see if this helps.

Teething could be making him wail, but not normally arching his back. Pop a clean finger into his mouth and run it gently round his gums. You will feel small, hard lumps if there are any teeth coming through.

Is he burping well after his last milk?
