Will go to GP, but in the meantime, any thoughts on this? When DD (14) exercises, she gets very hot, red knees. Feel hot to her. and hot to the touch. But no pain. Any thoughts?

Hi I used to get this in my teenage years (many years ago!) & they sometimes used to swell up. I was told at the time that it was because I was growing & because of my age & that it was very common in teenage girls. Don't know if there's any truth in that though!

thanks roundabout, I hope it is something like that. I know I need to take DD to the GP, every situation is different etc etc. but hope it is just "growing", as you say. She has had no pain or discomfort, hence not rushing off to docs, but know we do need a medical opinion. Did you grow out of it roundabout?

I still get them although not very frequently. I injured both knees so now when they are swollen I do get some pain too but from where the pain is I think it's from the injury itself if that makes sense.

hanks Roundabout, I hope they don't cause you too much discomfort.

DD's knees aren't swollen. and don't hurt, just hot and red, and hot to the touch also. Bizarre. I think trip to GP in order.
