Pulled Elbow... Anyone else's child with lots of episodes?

My dd is 3 and has so far had 4 episodes of pulled elbow, the last one a few weeks ago. Each time we have to go a and e to get it put back in place before dd can use it again. The last time she was coming down a slide on her front and hardly pulled it and it was gone again. Just wanted to start up a thread really, I seem to always say to dd 'mind your arm'... She's very boisterous and has a big brother, do as you can imagine I'm saying it a lot. Thanks

Mine had a problem as well. Was told that it isn't a true dislocation but one bone moving on top of the other. I don't remember the correct medical term. Apparently it is quite easy to put back yourself but I never had the courage to ask how to do it. The problem should resolve itself by the time a child is about 5 years old. DD has 4 episodes as well, 2 on each arm, and screamed the A&E down until we were seen. The screaming made sure she was treated quickly.

My DD has done this twice

The most recent time was last week

Apparently once it has been done once it is more susceptible to happening again

We were told to visit a & e if it happens again and not to attempt putting it back in ourselves

It's horrid - their arm goes all limp (turns my stomach)

dn had this 4-5 times when she was around 3-ish, although luckily it was not exceptionally sore for her, her arm just hung limply and she had to go to a&e to get it popped back in.

She is now nearly 6 and it hasn't happened for a couple of years.

DS2 has done this four times (right elbow each time). He is 4 now, and we were told that he should grow out of it soon. He got really distressed because he normally sucks his fingers to comfort himself, and couldn't when his elbow was pulled Sad (I don't think it was excrutiatingly painful).

The first two times, it went in by itself, the third time we went to a&e but it righted itself before he was seen and last time, the nurse at minor injuries popped it back in. I would be too scared to try fixing it in myself!
