singulair behaviour problems/side effects

DS4 has been on singulair since around christmas.

The first couple of weeks he had bad nightmares but that then settled down and it did seem to help his asthma, no hospital admissions since he has been on it.

Lately he has been very aggressive all the time, anything at all that he says is in an aggressive tone of voice, he lashs out a lot, he's hostile all the time, this has been going on for a while but seems to have got worse and worse until now it is literally every minute, everything he does and says.

My main worry is that he is never ever happy, it can't be any way to live your life feeling this hostile and aggressive all the time.

We went on holiday last weekend he was just the same, goodness only knows what the people in the caravan next to us thought.

Haven't been able to bring myself to give him the singulair since we got back, he is now wheezing this morning.

I will have to take him to the doctors but don't think they will be happy to take him off it.

Anyone else had side effects like this.

What other medication is he on? How old is he?

When I read the side effects when DS was started on it they did concern me, thankfully DS has been fine with it.

He's 4 years old, sorry he's not my 4th DS!

He's on Seretide 50 at the moment 2x twice a day, he was on the 125 Seretide until christmas but he had stopped growing and it was causing other problems, so the consultant decided to try dropping down to the 50 and adding singulair.

I know I have to take him to the GP, I will make an appointment, but just wondered if others had found the same. I am upset really as well that it had taken me this long to make the connection.

He seemed much, much happier in himself yesterday and was a lot calmer.

I should have mentioned that he was the most sunny natured, well behaved, calm, happy child you could imagine before.

I would try to get to see your consultant, or at least have a phone consultation with him to discuss it.

By the way hello Sirzy, I remember you I think from the asthma back when pixie was on, it's skydance

That might be a good idea actually, as I think the GP is going to be very reluctant to change the consultant plan, thanks Sirzy I hadn't thought of doing that.
