Could 1yo DD have swallowed something that has stuck in her bowel?

DD hasn't poo'd (apart from a tiny trace of one today) for several days - struggling to remember when the last one was, DH thinks possibly Sun but I think maybe not since Fri. She's usually a once-a-day girl.

A bit worried that perhaps she has swallowed something (she's always putting things in her mouth) that has lodged in her bowel. We have a 4yo and a 2yo as well, so things do fall on floor.

She seems slightly subdued / under-the-weather. Didn't sleep well last night, bf a lot (but not doing the chewing/biting that she normally does when teething). Doesn't seem to have any pain if I prod round her tummy (in fact it makes her giggle).

Anyway, I seem to be going through a phase of acute worrying about health at the moment, and perhaps I am blowing this up out of all proportion. Would you be worried? Should I take her to the doctor? What can they do, short of sending her for an X-ray, which I wouldn't want to do unnecessarily.

Id take her to the doctor not necessarily because anything is wrong but because they can check and put your mind at rest. They will be able to feel her tummy and also listen to her bowel with a stethoscope to see if it is making normal noises.

Id be surprised if she could swallow something which blocks her bowel having nto choked on it.

Also, I had/have health anxiety since having dd in particular. Its hellish, see if you can get help with that too.

Thank you wendy - I have called NHS Direct and am waiting for the call back. Have also fed DD some prunes which might get things moving and allay my worries. If no joy there, then I will take her to GP as you suggest.

Thanks for sympathy re: worries too. DS1 (and probably DS2 - waiting for tests) has a serious though manageable health condition, and I think that is making me jumpy.

Prunes got things going. I was just being unnecessarily worried I think!
